Final line up revealed Christmas & our new tenants…

In our first blog I welcomed Kay to the team however, last week Marie had decided to leave us & get a job closer to home. Therefore our final (fingers crossed) front of house line up is Yvonne and myself who will be here on a full-time basis and Kay and Laura are job sharing. We will each have our own individual roles within front of house to ensure smooth sailing for all of our tenants and any potential clients ;)

We are doing some essential upgrading around the building. One of the main improvements we’re making is to the internet and over the next few weeks we will have 100mg broadband installed. This will be a vast improvement on the current service and all of our clients will benefit from this.

So the festive season is looming and you might have noticed Glasgow City Council has erected a big wheel in George Square along with the usual ice skating at their annual Winter Wonderland. It opened over the weekend, and if you are wishing to purchase tickets you can find them 15% cheaper online here http://gca.ticketed.net/tickettype.php?wheelid=12

At Centrum we plan on hosting Christmas Drinks on 16th December, open to all our in-house and virtual clients, it will hopefully involve copious amounts of wine, dancing round our handbags until silly o’clock and good banter – all in honour of Christmas of course. As the newly refurbished Independent has opened over the road it seems the most convenient spot to host this so all are welcome from 5pm and we have reserved seating under Centrum Offices.

Finally this week sees us welcoming our new tenants Rathbone to the building. They have just moved into the third floor on a 3 year lease. We should have quite a few new faces around Centrum then – just to keep things interesting. Anyway until next week kids…

Welcome to Centrum!

Hiya folks and to start I would like to welcome you to Centrum’s new blog. I shall be using this as a platform to let you all know about the exciting things happening at
38 Queen Street
, as well as occasionally indulging in current affairs and generally justifying having a paid position here!

So on this rather grim November Monday morning we have another new arrival to perk us up - Kay! Kay has an exceptional background working within a serviced/virtual office and will hopefully be using her expertise to ensure we are continuously improving our business. Kay is joining us on a part time basis and we are very pleased to welcome her on board.

It’s definitely an interesting time here with lots of new faces, and improvements being made throughout the centre to ensure we’re keeping all of our existing clients happy as well as broadening the appeal to new clients. One of our strategies is to market to new businesses and make them aware of the benefits of having a virtual office work for them, with particular emphasis being on the positive image it conveys as well as being very cost effective in relation to running their own office.

With our type of business what we’re learning is most of our custom will come from word of mouth, however with our introduction of using social networking as a medium of building awareness we’re hoping to create a more interactive way of attracting clients to our services.

So I hope everyone had a lovely weekend and I would also like to thank those who participated in our Children in Need quiz on Friday – it was good fun; caused the right amount of controversy with the answers and we raised a £89.54 for charity… Until next week J
